Good news for Canadian Filesharers--better than expected Oh Canada!
The CRIA tried suing 29 filesharers, the ISP's resisted turning over the 29 names, and a judge with experience in technological and international commercial relations has ruled against them today.
Search Google News for "Finckenstein CRIA" for lots more.
And---take a look at a really decent forum that deserves all the donations they get for their part in informing this decision: http://www.canfli.org/index.php
What really ****** me is that the CRIA sounds contemptuous in insisting that what we are doing is illegal. The Globe and Mail reported Quote:
"We continue to believe it's unlawful under Canadian law to share files on peer-to-peer networks," CRIA general counsel Richard Pfohl said..
