True enough.
Problem is that many many people out there using Peer-to-Peer leave the application open to download/upload stuff while they go to work/school/parties-and-stuff.
In the meantime, the download might finish waaay before these people come back home, thus showing more sources for the corrupted/fake file in other people's searches, consequently making the latter go: "Gee, there's a popular file! I bet it works if so many people have it. Hmm. I'll start the download now so that it's done when I get back from work".
