Once you dl something, you should disconnect LW. This should help you getting more speed, especially with the Pro version since it maintains more connections that LW basic. You could also not share any material, that would speed dl too. I really hate leeching, but it might be necessary on 56K (plus I don't like dling 1KB/s from you, hahaha). Switching to another P2P shouldn't help, but you can try to convince yourself.

Ciao

The best p2p is LimeWire, no doubt about that. But in my opinion, the best cure for your slow speed is broadband. Look into DSL or Cable if it is available in your region, you'll love it.

I have a DSL connection and I have downloaded (songs for example) anywhere from 1KB/s to 34KB/s and sometimes more then that. If you are considering switching from dial-up then DSL is the way to go!

Can anyone tell me what kind of connection is a T1 and T3 or higher? Because I find that when downloading songs, downloading from a T1 is the quickest way to go.

Actually, Cable is the superior of tht two broadband technologies. While it is expensive to have them put a line in your house at first, the speed always remainds at what they advertise... 180/360 KB/s. With DSL, the farther you are away from the station, the slower your speed. THey market me 360 KB/s but I only get 180 because I am a few km from the station. DSL is cheaper up front though, because they can just use your phone line for the connection, and it generally is available in more areas than Cable.
