Default Can't find files outside LW

Hey, I just recently got a laptop and I installed LimeWire on it. I've been using it for months on my old desktop and never had a problem. But all of the songs that I have downloaded on my new laptop (and some that I downloaded before) are missing from my shared folders! I can get at them in my LW Library, but when I try to find them anywhere else they aren't there... I've searched, used the explore button, tried different sharing options, EVERYTHING to try to get them to show up outside of LimeWire, but I can't. Any ideas on what to do? I'm deperate!

When you have this problem with Vista you need to make another save folder. Try the following manner. Your HDD weather it be C: or something different/LimeWire/Incoming then point LimeWire to save the files in the incoming folder.

You may have to drag and drop it in from where your music is saved on your HDD...

I have been dragging and dropping from LW library to (for instance) Maroon 5 folder, then putting them all in a downloaded music folder. I'll do that rather than hunt for days to find a way to have them go there directly.

Thanks Wondering_why, I'll try that. However, dragging them from LW library isn't all that bad.

Default Dragging music to a folder on Vista

Hi Texasrv, What I did was make a file on the desktop, example.. Rihanna, then I drag all of Rihanna's music to that folder, then drag them to a downloaded music folder. I like my music on the desktop so it's easier to find. I'm told we shouldn't save anything to the desktop but I prefer that.
Hope this helps.

Default Solution! Missing files in Vista

Hi Dancinfeet,
You solved the problem ( can see files in LW library but not in vista folder: solution : drag and drop from the LW library into a new folder on the desktop, then put the files where you want them.) . Many thanks.
