Default Not Quite Sure Of My Issue (stuck Loading Internationalization Support)

Now disregard update. It is back to loading messages. Just Great. Please see update after question 16. I am new to Limewire and not that good with my computer, especially now tht I have Vista. Last night when I got Limewire, it got stuck on a Loading Messages page, I tried my best to remove and reinstall Java as seen in the Forums. Now today, it is stuck on Loading Internationalization Support. It does say Disconnected on bottom left. I've been reading through as many messages as I can, but I am still not sure if its a Java issue or connecting issue.. Thank you in advance for any help someone can give me.
1 Vista no admin account
2 Windows Firewall (off) Zonealarm (Internet zone set to med. Trusted zone set to off)
3 Not sure on Ram ( fairly new computer)
4 same as above
5 Cable (broadband?)
6 Modem Arris model TM502G
7 House
8 LW 4.18.6 Pro / Java 1.6.0_07
9 Comcast?
10 Your Test Worked
11 No
12 1st time user
13 yes
14 NA
15 Zonealarm (see #2) AVG
16 USA
After doing as many of the posts in "If LW Will Not Connect", the page now opens, searches very slowly, shows the green bar advance all the way across the name of search, but will not show any results in lower section. It also says "Starting Connection" with one bar showing in lower left corner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe nobody's helped you because they don't know what the problem is...your post's really confusing.

You say "now disregard update. It is back to loading messages. Please see update after question 16". Well the update after question 16 says that you have a connection problem...is that the problem, or are we supposed to disregard that bit??? Is the connection problem solved now, but there's still a 'loading messages' or 'loading internationalization support' error???
Do you see how it could be confusing the hell out of people?

If your LW won't connect, try the fixes here: If LW Will Not Connect

If you're connected, but still get no search results - try the fixes below:

1. In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it's ticked , untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference.

2. Problems with the search

3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them.
Vista users: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

And if you're still stuck loading messages/internationalization support, check here: Connection problem with PRO - "Loading Internationalization Support" never finishes!

If none of those are the problem...slow down & try to describe your problem in terms that we can understand

Rather than explain the 2 updates on my thread, Ill just tell you where I am now. Stuck on the "Loading Internationalization Support". I had done all the research on the forums and did as many of the fixes I could possibly find. Pretty much every step outlined in "If LW Will Not Connect". including all the Java steps, deleting and reinstalling certain files, and deleting and reloading LW. At this point I am completely frustrated and discouraged as it seems many are by some of the posts I've seen. I know it has nothing to do with any of the people on this board so I hope nobody takes offense. I am only average with a computer so maybe its just me, maybe its LW or maybe its even Vista, (which I've hated since I bought my new computer. Thank you Birdy for your reply and I can see why my post was confusing. The email support I got from LW tells me to do the same things that you guys have in the different "fix" posts. Sorry this was so long and I appreciate any help givin, I'm just surprised how many hours I have spent on my computer trying to get this working.

Don't worry too much about the connection issue for now - if your LW hasn't fully loaded then you won't see a connection.

Did you make sure to remove all other Java versions & just have one version installed at a time? Did you try the older Java (1.5.0_11)?

Did you have any trouble with finding/deleting the preferences folder? Once you'd deleted the folder, did you have to go through LW's setup wizard all over again?

Did you try changing compatibility (right click on the LW icon on your desktop > properties > compatibility. Try running in compatibility mode for XP)?

When you uninstalled LW, did you do so from Add/Remove programs (or whatever Vista's equivalent is)? Or did you use LW's uninstaller (start > all programs > LW > uninstall)? Try removing LW again & follow LOTR's advice in this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...tml#post320995
That post has a link to CCleaner, which a lot of people swear by. Also, there's a different link for downloading LW...just in case there's been some problem during download of LW.

Have you tried other p2p apps?

I don't use Vista, but I thought you had to have an admin account to install LW?? Are you able to become an administrator?

Sorry for so many questions

Thank you for your reply. I have been removing each version before reinstalling java. I am now running the 1.5.0_11 with no luck after running the 1.6.0_07 that did notseem to work either. I can never seem to find the file .limewre so I remove Limewire completely. I don't think Vista uses the folder .limewire but I could be wrong. And yes I do have to go back through the LW install wizard each time. No matter what I set my compatibility to, it reverts itself to the XP setting. I had been removing through Add/Remove, but then followed your uninstall suggestion. I also followed LOTR's post and used the cleaner and installed the older version of LW, but that stays at the Loading Internationalization Support page also. I'm not sure of any other p2p apps and I don't know anything about being an admin as this is my home computer. Don't worry about to many questions, I appreciate your help.

Right click on LW's desktop icon > properties. There should be the option to run as administrator...make sure that you choose that option.

If that doesn't help, try one of these older versions. Download the installer, then uninstall your current version. Run CCleaner, then install the version that you've just downloaded. Restart your computer & see whether LW loads properly.

LW 4.16.7: LW basic 4.16.7.exe

LW 4.14.6: LW basic 4.14.6.exe

There is a check in the Admin box. One quick question before I try one of the older version. Which Java version should I have installed when I try the older versions? Thanks again.

Go with the latest update (JRE 6 update 7) first. If you have problems, then you could revert back to the older Java & give that a try
