Problems Logging into WireShare with LiveJournal
 

I've tried logging into WireShare with LiveJournal but it keeps loading for a while and then saying "Network error." I uninstalled and reinstalled WireShare after the first attempt and it still wasn't working. Any suggestions are appreciated! :sos::):bangh::heart2:

I have never used LiveJournal to log-in, only gmail. Has LiveJournal ever worked for you previously?

I think someone reported Jabber no longer worked several years ago but I would need to double-check that.

WSHR being Firewalled can make a difference in regards to connecting to 'Friends', but in regards to logging-in to the mail service, it would depend upon exactly how badly firewalled. In theory I suspect light firewalling should not make a difference to logging-in.

I just got WireShare a day or two ago so no, I haven't tried logging in with LJ or anything else before. I'll try to look into it a bit more but after I posted this I tried logging in with Gmail and that didn't work either. Might just be a me problem.

It appears LiveJournal is no longer functional for WSHR's purpose.
According to www.livejournal.com "LJ Talk is no longer supported. A full shutdown took place on April 10, 2023". Other service providers can be found here -> https://providers.xmpp.net/#providers. ... Jabbers.one ... it seems to work fine. So there are alternatives. I confess it has been 9 years since I last used gmail for logging in with WSHR. I tried just now and it failed with network error. So it looks like gmail might also have changed and prevents conversing via WSHR.
