Thumbs up Possible Fix For Vista Problems...

Ok, well I posted this yesterday but the forums crashed or somthing and it got deleted. I am pretty sure this will make Windows Aero work and fix other problems

Go to Desktop or Wherever LimeWire.exe is

Right Click on Icon

Go to Compatibility Tab

Go down to the box where it says Run this program as an administrator

Check the box

Click Ok

Star LimeWire up and when Security box pops up click Allow

LimeWire should start up with Aero and other problems may be fixed

I think this should work if you havnt tried it yet. Just post here for other Vista questions cause I can help a lil since I have been running Vista since RC1.

Can we maybe get an Admin or Mod to sticky a post about McAfee block LimeWire. Or make one. Too many people are asking.

You posted to my forum and now I'll post this....I think it could possibly be the Mcafee security. Even if you create ports to allow it it still can have problems. I've got Vista Home Basic and now I have LW so I know it's possible to have them both. It's just a matter of getting there.

You must get rid of Mcafee for LimeWire to work for Vista at this time. You may download a free Vista Capable virus scan from avast.com. It will work with LimeWire and should fix any problems Mcafee had.
