Default Trouble finding files

Here's a fun chestnut. The files I download off LimeWire are available to be played as long as I'm in my LimeWire library. But I can't find them outside it.

I know the folder they're supposed to be downloading to, and there's no files in there, none at all. I've used Vista's search function to look for my files, and it claims they're not there.

And yet LimeWire obviously thinks they are and is capable of playing them. This is only really a problem in the case of burning files to a CD, moving them, or actually most of the things I'd like to with 'em.

Has anyone else had this problem? I've had LimeWire on XP and Windows 2000 without issues, but Vista . . . well, I guess it's glitchy. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LimeWire (hardly ideal, since I lose all my files) and there's no change.

I bow to the wisdom of the LimeWire forum. Help me, o ye great ones.

Have you tried this?

In the Limewire library, select a file and click 'Explore' in the bottom left of the window.

The folder that contains the file should open.

Hope this helps

Hm. Just did, and it's the same folder I thought they were being sent to.

Oddly, looking through the files, there is one file I have downloaded in the folder. Only one out of three hundred or so, but for some reason it's there. It's not the one I did the Explore bit on, which doesn't show up either . . .

Hm.

But thank you anyway.

Hey there, this is sort of in the same topic, I at first was able to download music to my Windows Media Player, so all my songs would be in one easy place to find. Now I messed around with it (LW) and lost that ability. I also lost my usual set up and things were a MESS! so i uninstalled and reinstalled LW, same with my java, and I cant get my LW PRO back without paying for it again! No way to contact the LWPro office to ask for asst. and it wont take any of my email addresses for the "one you used when you paid for PRO". I can use my email to log onto Gnutella forums here. ANY ideas ?? thanks a million if you can help.
