Windows Vista

Hi all
well i just perchesed my first laptop and the first thing i downloaded was limewire. Limewire has sat on my PC since 2003 and it could not be more of a friend but after downloading it to my laptop i could not get it to work i uninstalled it 2-3 times and finely burned a copy from my PC still it wont connect it did work for a minuet then nothing .
the only thing i can think of is windows Vista wont allow it my ??? is has anybody had a similar problem and if so how did you fix it thanks for reading
