Files Say Access Denied I just got LimeWire to work with my Vista yesterday by removing the McAfee firewall. It connects now, with all the bars full in fact. But I'd tried downloading 5 different things, and everyone of them have been zip files. When I get them, it tells me that: Windows Cannot Open the folder. Access to the compressed (zipped) folder (then it gives the foldier location) is denied. It's doing this for all my zipped downloads so I can't use any of them. Is there anything that can be done with this? It's not like the ones about the music being downloaded then zipped when the PC is restarted. These are files I'm downloading already zipped, but it won't allow me to open them. |
You should be thankful that it's not letting you into those files as it's common knowledge to stay well away from any zip, exe, program, game files...Most of them contain viruses and all sorts of nasties that will take your computer down.... Take a look at this stickie and get familiar with file sizes, so you can stay safe... WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! Also make sure you scan everything you download before playing or opening...:rolleyes_2: |
Is that the only way I can get Limewire to work on Vista? To remove my friggin virus protection? It's a year 2... |
This member has come up with another solution, give it a go and see if it helps you.... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...38&postcount=1 |
i'm having the same problem..never did on emule..as far as .rar files, zipped files,.exe files..what else is there...it won't let me open anything..i have a good anti virus |
LW won't open them, but you should be able to open them outside of LW(in windows). Open them at your own risk. |
access denied but the problem is, when i unpack the rar it will not let me run the setup.. |
Don't know. Check the nfo. I think it can be somewhat complicated depending on what your trying to do. |
all i'm trying to do is open the file..it will unpack, but then windows won't let me access it...permission denied. |
