![]() Windows Vista Home Prem., NO MCAFEE, defender is off.......Java 6..... Running XP, I could download any file, any size,,,,, Running Vista, for some odd reason, it will let me download small files (2000kb and smaller) BUT will NOT let me download larger files. Says connecting, and won't go any farther. Tried free version...same tried PRO..............same tried BETA.............same Is there something in Vista that is blocking a file size? Or is it a Limewire problem? It's driving me nuts, and most are saying it's a Mcafee or Java prob.....I don't have McAfee, and DO have the latest Java...... Help!!! 'Pete |

![]() I have been using Limewire for over 2 years now, enough said. No offense, but that response doesn't help solve the issue at hand.... Limewire with Vista in my case will download the smaller files and connect properly, but it will not connect for the larger ones. Could this be a setting within Vista that is causing the problems? |

![]() ok, small progresses being made....we've ascertained now, between your problem and mine that it is limited to vista and not mcafee....... i have set all firewall settings for mass allowances for limewire.....and had it working once, even downloaded 768mb file with it.... lets narrow this down, I really dont think its a firewall issue either....am curious, could it be the open ports or the windows defender???? lets see if we can work on this from 2 ends.......am wondering if winvista did an autoupdate on me that may have interfered with limeware after I had it working???? |

![]() ok, just tried it again - on downloads showing 20+ users, it won't connect. ALSO noticed that when a file is listed in MB (size), it won't connect - if it's listed in KB's, most of the time it will connect and download. WTF is Vista doing? I also doublechecked the installed updates, but none look to affect Limewire. Gotta be some setting in there to block downloading PTP's..... |
