Can't find my music files, but it's still in Limewire

I recently got a new Dell w/ Windows Vista, and after I downloaded LimeWire, I thought it worked fine. IT searched as it usually did, and I could still download.

Now, however, when I tried to drag and drop the files into my iTunes library, it just does.. nothing. And when I search through the folder where it was supposedly saved, it's completely empty. I seached my entire computer, but they're not showing up anywhere, and yet they'll still play in limewire! Also, I have a Limewire folder in iTunes, and they'll play there, too, but I still can't find the source or how to get it onto my iTunes so I can put them into my iPod.

Ah, another thing, I also thought it might've had something to do with iTunes just not cooperating with my LW so I tried to move the files to a new music folder on my desktop. When I did, a message popped up saying that the files had been deleted from the folder LW had saved them in. How is that?

Is this a problem with Vista, or is my computer just messed up? Or is it limewire? Please help...

Your actually the second person that has said that there files have disappeared, the other person found them in their programs folder

This could be some sort of new bug...
Did you try clicking on one of the files in your lw library and then click explore...What happens when you do this, what opens up for you ???

Yes, I did click the 'explore' button in L/W as I heard in another thread that that would open up the folder the files were in, but when I did, it showed the folder, but it was completely empty.

I'M HAVEING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! ALL THE MUSIC PLAYS IN THE LIMEWIRE PLAYER, AND IF YOU SET LIMEWIRE TO USE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, IT'LL PLAY THE MUSIC IN WMP TOO! BUT WHEN YOU GO TO THE FOLDER WHERE LIMEWIRE SAYS THE MUSIC IS STORED, IT DOESN'T SHOW UP. i EVEN MADE SURE i HAD PERMISSIONS TO THE FOLDER. i EVEN DID A SEARCH ON MY COMPUTER FOR A COUPLE SONGS, AND WINDOWS COULDN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE ON MY HARD DRIVE! THIS WOULD BE OK IF I WAS JUST LISTENEING TO MY MUSIC, BUT I LIKE TO BURN IT TO CD'S TOO, AND i CANT DO THAT IF I CAN'T FIND THE FILE. IF ANYBODY FIGURES OUT A SOLUTION!! PLEASE LET MY KNOW RIGHT AWAY!

P.S., A SEPARATE THREAD SAID TRY POINTING LIMEWIRE TO SAVE TO AN INCONSPICOUSE FOLDER ON ANOTHER DRIVE, BUT THIS DOESN'T WORK WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE HARD DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW THE ONLY QUESTION IS, WHAT ABOUT THE FILES I DOWNLOADED TO THAT FOLDER ALREADY?? DO I HAVE TO REDOWNLOAD THEM FROM LIMEWIRE IN ORDER TO SEE THEM? Ah.. I actually fixed my own problem by uninstalling, then re-installing LimeWire. All of the previous music files in there were deleted, but it's OK since I only had about 2 in LW.

I don't know why it's working NOW, but it is, so njturner84, you might wanna try uninstalling it... then re-installing it, etc. If you have alot of songs, just write them down so you can re-download them later. It's what I did....
