Not actually thought of the aero thing. Sadly no difference though

One day soon, there'll be a lw vista..... till then... p.s. I've rolled back to the basic version of LW, 4.12.11, from what i've seen, less compatability issues with this. If i can get it workin with that, i'll then try going back.

Also 6 Pac, no, got the right version of java etc....

now where's that brick wall????

Hey 6_Pac

When a person installs the 64bit version of Java the (X86) version is installed also. So theoretically there should be no issue with installing the 64bit Java if you are running a 64bit OS.

Exclamation not just vista

i don't think it has anything to do with vista. im running XP and im having the exact same problem.

im running XP home, 1 GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, intel pentium M Processor @ 1.70 GHz, Java 6

it has to be a java problem. im going to find an earlier version.

LUCKY YOU! I cant get the thing to exit. Every time I switch Limewire Pro off it opens again immediately. Probably yet another gremlin in my system. PC is six years old and FULL of rubbish. Using XP at mo. Have cash set aside for brand spanking new system but waiting for Vista to get its act together first. Putting up with swearing at my screen for now. Doesnt fix anything but makes me feel better.

Yeah, problem is that it says everywhere that for limewire to work on vista, you need java6. Actually got it to start the other day by starting 2 instances of the program, the OS killed the first but left the second running. Only worked the once though, think it was cos of the "first time setup" thing. Still, Ares ftw, use that now... no problems.

Default JAVA Problem (for me)

About 10 days ago my java software was updated from 1.5.0 update 12 to 1.6.0 update 2. Thought nothing of it. Two days ago I tried to bring-up LimeWire without suggess. Sent the error message to Sun. Found out that when the update occurred, the old version was not completely replaced. I completely uninstalled/deleted both versions and reinstalled the 1.5.0 update 12 version. (Haven't tried reinstalling the update. Bad vibe's.) LimeWire is happy. I'm happy. LG
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 for ver 1.5.0 update 12.

My problem, my fix. Hope it works for you.
