Default Vista + McAfee, what's the best solution? how's norton?

ok so i must have went through every thread about the whole mcafee, vista, and limewire connection problems and have yet to see a good solution.

the problem i have is what most others are saying, i cannot connect to limewire. if i do, my internet stops working completely. basically, the connections don't work. i have fixed the firewalls, added limewire ports, etc. people are saying that mcafee is not compatible. some say to uninstall spamkiller and other aspects of mcafee. how safe is that, though? basically, that only leaves you with virus scan. does ANY1 know a way to keep mcafee and use limewire and still have my computer be safe?!

what about norton??? does that program work alright with limewire?? any other virus scans work well. remember, i have vista.

help me please! thanks!

Norton and McAfee are both good Anti viruses the just use allot of resources (memory/CPU) if you have plenty of resources then use Norton. If you are borderline use Avast.

Default mcafee

I had the same problems like everyone else. I had Mcafee and Vista on a new computer. I did everything that I had read on the Limewire posts. Spent hours on it. Got really tired of it. I would get one bar, and then it would not let me acess the net. Changed settings in Mcafee, settings, Mcafee settings, and would not let it start at start up. etc. Nothing worked. I listened to Grandpa and got rid of Mcafee, and downloaded Avast. Worked like a charm! Grandpa, I want to thank you! Awesome. For me, Mcafee seemed to be the problem. Now I have turbo charged speed within 30 seconds! Thanks Gramps! Download Avast.

Hey Meg, Not taking anything away from Avast, just wanted you to know,I use Norton Internet Security 2006 and have had absolutely no problems. I was in the same situation with Norton as you are, so since I have it I use it. No problems.
