Default Not connecting to the network.

I have recently got a new computer and now that I have installed LimeWire but now that I have a strange thing seems to happen. To begin with it won't connect, unable to get past the first bar being green while the other four are red. Another problem that seems to be happening is that after starting to run LimeWire, all internet activity freezes, I can't view pages or anything dealing with the internet.
I don't know what is causing this cause it's the same internet connection as for my old computer and it worked fine on that computer. I have McAfee on this computer just like on the other one and I have the exceptions turned on. The only real difference is the operating system which is now Vista. I have looked over other posts.
I can provide more information if needed I suppose, but I don't think anything else is a real issue, as I said my old computer worked fine, so I know it's not the ISP or anything.

I am no expert, just trying to send you in the right direction. In this forum, Technical Support go to General Vista Support, and read in there. Also go to search at the top of the page and type in McAfee, Vista. There is alot of info about all the problems people are having with this combo. I just read that the best fix for this problem is to rid yourself of McAfee and try another AV Program. Hope this helps.
