LW causes my internet to disconnect
 

When I run LW, my internet connection goes away. I can only ever get LW to connect up to 3 bars, but I don't get any search results. Then if I try to run Explorer, it won't connect to the web. I got LW to connect to 4 bars once, and was able to download a couple files, but then it disconnected again. This is a new computer with Windows Vista. I had LW on my old computer and had no problems with it. Any ideas on what this problem could be?

If your using Mcafee uninstall it because it's known to have problems with LimeWire. Replace it with avast, it's a good(FREE) one.

Also uninstall java via the add/remove programs and download java 6(JRE) using the offline installer: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

For the problem of no search results, try using PeerGuardian 2. It works like a mini firewall while your using p2p apps. They maintain block lists that block unwanted ip's, the probable source of the zero search results and probably why I haven't had that problem. Worth a try anyways ;).
