Question Limewire/360 Share Pro connection problem

Hi all,

Would be grateful if anyone could help. I downloaded what i thought was limewire yesterday but ended up with something called 360 share pro showing up on my desktop. I was asked to pay and chose a 99p option but ended up paying £50 because it sneakily added some protection stuff on it that I didn't want. Anyway, I wouldn't mind that but it won't connect. I then went to another limewire site and this looked more like the old one I used to use and it was free. So I downloaded that but it still won't connect. The connection display shows one bar and it won't go higher. It also has a brick wall in front of the the display which the website tells me is a firewall but I uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2007 and turned off the windows firewall but still it won't work.

Can anyone help?

OS version? (eg: Windows 98)Vista
2. What firewalls you have? ?? Certainly windows but this disabled
3. How much ram? 1gb
4. Hard Disk space available? at least 150gb
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) broadband6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? thomson speedtouch3307. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? Home

9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? tiscali
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? My test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?Yes There is a wall

FYI: running Vista and broadband

Thanks,

Harvey

It's hard to say what 360 share pro add into the program, but more than likely all the added extra's are free...
I would strongly suggest contacting your credit card company and telling them of this fraud site and get your money back...

Here's some info about "membership" & scam sites
Membership? - **WARNING ** BEWARE** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites

and some info about how people have been able to get refunds from scam sites
get your $$$ BACK!!!(music members)

Then download limewire basic it's free, as I see you are with Tiscali and they shape p2p, so you may never get a connection...

With Vista you need to run Java 6...

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(4th one down)
Java SE Downloads

I've tried the changing port thing (I'm a beginner!) but that alas has no effect either. Dees this mean that limewire just won't work with tiscali?

Please help!
