Limewire 4.12 Connection Failure

hi im using vista home premium and i can't seem to conncet to limewire 4.12 - only a bar comes out but no connection whatsoever.

My laptop specs - intel core duo 2300 1gb ddr2 ram intel graphics 950

Ive tried the following:

(all at once)
turned off windows firewall
turned off avast - my anti virus software
turned of windows defender

..still no connection

I also use a D-link 524 wireless router so i tried opening a port but still no connection.

I have the latest updates of JAVA and Vista.

limewire used to work with xp and my current antivirus its just when i upgraded to vita issues with connections started.

I did notice that your router has a Nat Firewall so you will need to Port Forward...
These are your instructions...

Well Avast doesn't have a firewall in it as far as I know. Have you configured the windows firewall and defender

I have win home vista premium and I no longer can connect to limewire..no problems prior to now. As I mentioned in another post...I dragged out my 10 year old winxp laptop which takes 35 minutes to boot and although slow ,limewire connected just fine..so it's not cable or router causing problems..I just don't get it!!! the pint is what cahnged overnight? If i added NOTHING to computer, why suddenly can many of us not connect=only one bar turns green, test works.
