Unhappy I keep having problems!!! (connecting)

Hi

Well first things first, I am using Windows Vista. When I open limewire, I DO have a wall in front of the globe meaning firewall is detected. I have sinced turned off my windows firewall, and soon after found out that I had another firewall running (mcafee). I then turned that one off as well. For a brief couple of seconds I was able to connect and do a search. After those few seconds, the connection dissapeared and I have yet to get it back. What is it that I am doing wrong? I apologize if these issues have been addressed in another area, but I only understand so much..... sadly, I am not horribly computer literate. Can someone help me?

Thank you for your time, patience, and help!
Laura

sometimes you need to set port forwarding on your router and in limewire options under advanced section
