I've seen a lot of problems with downloads and connections on the Vista support forum. I have no problem with this, my problem according to Best Buy geek squad is my DVD won't load the driver so I can use it is because Lime Wire is the problem. My son uses it to download and has for the past 1 or 2 months and no problems. It was this past week that the DVD problem arose so it may or may not be Lime Wire causing it. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver or update but to no avail. I bought this system back in April this year. Any help on this issue would be most helpful.

I guess that is why most people call them the GEEK WADS. LimeWire is a Java based app. And if you haven't had any problems in the past then it most likely has nothing to do with it. Most likely thing that has happened is Microsoft came out with a new update that conflicted with the driver. Try to do a system restore to a point when the DVD worked. If you don't have a restore point before things went bad try uninstalling the driver for the DVD player through the task manager and let Vista install the driver when it detects the DVD player.

Searching for solution to DVD driver

I tried to uninstall though task manager but no file for driver was there. I checked through all listed. I've also emailed Gateway support for help and am waiting reply. If I find a solution for this problem I'll post here in case others get same problem. :shoot:

Oops I see I said Task Manager above it should have been Device Manager. Sorry.:o
