Who is your ISP? Timewarner-roadrunner 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No 11. This is a new problem with an experienced user. 12. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnP enabled 14. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Mccafee 15. What country are you living in? U.S. Recently I purchased a new computer and I downloaded Limewire it download fine but when I try to search for files it wont allow me to and it gives me a message that either there is no internet connection or there is a firewall blocking it. Limewire will search for a connection to get through the firewall. On the bottom the quality of connection to LW is low all the bars are red and it has the blue globe with a wall blocking. I have gone into Mccafee and have disabled the firewall there and I have done it also turned firewall of in Windows. I still can not get that blocked globe to be unblocked and the connection is still at nothing. I always have the internet connected when I am doing this and nothing seems to work. Please help! |

![]() A couple of things that may be causing this.. McAfee is one of them, disabling the firewall doesn't actually help with limewire and Vista... McAfee Tech support have just recently posted a solution to the problem... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/278483-post16.html Try this solution and see if it helps you...If it doesn't post back and let us know... Also you could have a Nat Firewall within your router, could you supply the model number for your Netgear so I can give you the instructions on Port Forwarding...

![]() I'm in desperate need of help - Limewire is being blocked by some firewall which I assume is my Netgear router since that's when my problem began. I have instructions for port forwarding for my Netgear WPN824 router but I don't know how to find the IP address of my router, not to mention that it seems a bit too complicated to me. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me because this is driving me crazy. Thanks |
