i need help connecting :(
 

So i just got my new computer and limewire won't connect on it. It just stays at one bar. I think its Zonealarm security suite that's the problem, but I allowed limewire through it and it still won't connect. Limewire works on my other computer though but that's windows xp and it only has the basic zonealarm.

2. What firewalls you have? Zonealarm Security Suite and Windows (off)
3. How much ram? 2046mb
4. Hard Disk space available? 375gigs
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? linksys wrt54gs
7. Where are you trying to connect from: my house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? limewire 4.12.15 and java 1.6.0-rc
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? roadrunner
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? my test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. my router is connected to my downstairs computer
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 1st try on this computer, it works on my other one
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yesss
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? upnp enabled
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? zonealarm security suite
16. What country are you living in? usa. new york.

Check with these instructions and see if you have ZoneAlarm to allow Limewire configured properly...

Thanks for that site, it seems like it should work but everytime I go and enter a port number under "listening port" (a random number like it says to) Limewire just freezes and I have to restart. What should I do now?

anyone know what port i should use, for the port between 10000 and 60000? limewire freezes for any number i type in.

Use 64049...If limewire keeps freezing on you try these fixes...

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...
