![]() I just installed livewirePro on my laptop. I am running windows vista. When I try to run lw it won't connect. I ran the port test and passed. Checked both windows firewall and mcafee security center firewall and lw appears to have full access. I was running lw freeware with no problem. I have dial-up. The first bar on the strengh meter goes green but that's it. It seems to stay in the connecting mode without ever connecting. Is there a fix to this problem? |

![]() Don't run the Windows & McAfee firewalls together, two software firewalls will interfere with each other. Choose one, configure it to allow LW & disable the other one. Has this just started happening since you upgraded to LW Pro?? First thing to try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html These threads might also help. “No Compromise” Vista-McAfee-Limewire Solution Can't Connect With VISTA!
