![]() Recently I've acquired Windows Vista, and I tried to install Limewire on it. It gets as far as "extracting files" and trying to rename a file, and stops. The sound the computer's making and the CPU Usage dial (funky eh?) is suggesting it is actually doing something, but it's getting nowhere. Has anybody had this and/or know why Limewire won't install? |

![]() Try installing this way... Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Then uninstall Limewire (if it installed in the first place) using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire.. Then download limewire using the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

![]() I've had a go at installing the Java application, and have tried the offline installer method but can't seem to find that. It simply asks me if I want to exit the setup. That'll obviously cancel the installation and leave me with a load of temporary files on my computer. No success with the installation though; it still gets stuck in the same place. I'm beginning to wonder whether it just takes ages. Can't take that long if it's renaming a file (or so it says). |
