Default Another Can't Connect Problem With No Solution in Sight

Ok. I used LimeWire constantly pretty much everywhere on my laptop. I got a new laptop with Vista installed, and all of a sudden, LimeWire wont connect. I had the same anti-virus software (McAfee), and the same firewall (ZoneAlarm) with the exact same settings on both machines and only my laptop with XP worked. My brother connecting to the same router, has no problem getting onto LimeWire. I have read and read about port forwarding and other fixes, and I have port forwarded via firewall and router, and even shut off the firewall completely, and still can't connect. I've also tried Gnutella Lite and Shareaza. Nothing Something tells me its something with vista. Here's my details, please HELP!

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) - VISTA
2. What firewalls you have? - ZoneAlarm Pro 7.1
3. How much ram? - 1 GB
4. Hard Disk space available? 117 GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Actiontec, AnyGate, Whatever Panera Bread Uses as well
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?, Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? - YES IT WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Not Right Now
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New w/ experienced
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Yes
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland).

Uninstall LW & ZA. Then reinstall LW first & after that, reinstall ZA.
Can't connect using Vista

When you uninstall LW, don't do it via add/remove programs. Start > all programs > Limewire > use the uninstall option from there

What version of Java are you using (some people have had connection probs with Java 1.6.0_02)?? Try this version instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Still not connecting? Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here.
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

I uninstalled McAfee and ZoneAlarm and then reinstalled LimeWire and it works. Seems like ZoneAlarm, simply being installed, stopped my connections. Should I install the McAfee Desktop Firewall then? Or what Firewall would you recommend?

Lots of Vista users have had problems with the McAfee firewall...before you install that, have a read of these threads & see the problems & solutions that have worked for people

I use Comodo firewall but I don't know if Vista users have had any problems with it (I use XP).
