Try these fixes...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...

I am also experiencing the same problem. A window pops up telling me to upgrade to limewire pro, but the program just freezes solid after that and I have to go to task manager to exit it.

I will try uninstalling Java and reinstalling it. Thanks.

Reinstalling the java application does not work, it still freezes when you open it.

The second link does not help because there is no information for windows vista, and the files cannot be found.

Here is a link to help you find the prefs folder in Vista.

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html.

Also before you changed the Java version, did you completly remove all versions of Java 1st?

I also read that someone had some Luck by uninstalling and reinstalling a fresh copy of limewire after the fixes above. If you do this, make sure you uninstall by going to START > All Programs > Limewire > Uninstall. This is the correct way to uninstall. Do Not go to Add/Remove Programs.
Hope this helps.
