Default Connection Problems

Apparently this is a common issue with people running LimeWire Pro, so I'm sure you guys will be able to help me. I've installed LimeWire Pro and it will not connect to the internet. I've searched on here and often times I've seen people asked what the specs of their computer is, so here's mine:

1. Windows Vista Home Premium OS
2. I'm running an Ad Aware 2007 Spyware program, Symantec Antivirus (provided by the university), and then HP Total Care Advisor. I have Windows firewall running, but I've unblocked Limewire from it.
3. 2 GB of RAM
4. 142GB of harddrive available
5. I'm sure the university has some sort of cable connection, I'm connecting wirelessly though if that makes a difference.
6. I'm not sure what modem or router they use.
7. I'm trying to connect from my dorm room at school.
8. I'm using LimeWire 4.14.8 Pro and Java 1.6.0-oem
9. I'm unsure who the ISP is as well here at school.
10. I've clicked http://http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and I am unable to get the message on there.
11. I do not know if I am sharing the connection with other computers, I would assume I am since everyone on campus uses this network.
12. I have used LimeWire in the past, but this is my first time using LW Pro.
13. Yes I see the brick wall in front of the world. That means I'm behind a firewall but I've already unblocked it with Windows Firewall.
14. Not sure of.

16. USA

Thank in Advance for any help you can contribute. Hopefully I posted the right stuff and you guys will be able to help.

Have you used LW successfully at school before?? If your port test failed to display the page, something's blocking LW's default port...possibly the school's not allowing access?? Lots of schools block p2p. Talk to whoever's in charge of the dorm's internet & find out whether you're allowed to use p2p. Can other people use LW in the dorm??

You could try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 64049 (or try others in the range of 49152 - 65535) > Apply > ok.

If you could connect at school without a problem until you upgraded to Pro, try this: Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

I have not used LW in the schools before, this is my first year. The person across the hall is able to use LimeWire Pro so I think I should be able to as well.

Also right now the "Listen on Port" is set at 22884, does that make a difference or help any?

Ok I contacted the Technology Department here at the university and they said that our school was our actual ISP. They said that they do block some programs, so they wanted to know what I was trying to run and what port it was using. I told them LimeWire Pro, but I'm not exactlly sure which port LW uses... What doesn't make sense is that the person across the hall is able to use LW Pro, so apparently my school allows it.

birdy- I tried both of those fixes and neither have seemed to work. Do you have any other suggestions? Or anyone for that matter?

Go ask the person across the hall which port they are using.
