Port Issues? Need help please..

2. What firewalls you have? Norton, Zonealarm, Windows
3. How much ram? 2 gigs
4. Hard Disk space available? 98 gigs
5. Connection type? broadband cable modem
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys befsr41v2 router, SVB5120 Sufboard Voiceover cable modem.
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire & Java do you have? LW 4.14.8, Java 1.6.0_02
9. Who is your ISP? Optimum Online

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? yes, linksys befsr41v2 router, 3 computers, one uses LW successfully.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem with new laptop that never actually connected with LW... Except when i specified the port as 45100 and it worked for that day only..
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yep
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? tried unsuccessfully to port forward, has upnp enabled, tried to setup static ip on laptop,
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Norton

First thing you need to do is determine which firewall you want to use and disable the other two. Having more than one firewall will cause them to conflict with each other. You need to allow Limewire full access through which ever one you decide to use.

Your ISP may be some of the problem also. See Link below.

well both zone alarm and windows firewall are both running, and both have exceptions for lime wire to allow full access.

i attempted port forwarding, but i know that you cannot use a dynamic ip, so you must set up static ip... I did this on my laptop, but its not setup for static ip on the router configuration.. does the router also need a static ip to be setup?

thirdly im pretty sure its not my ISP, as i said in the post i have another computer on my home network which connects with lime wire with no problems and have downloaded files successfully.

Yes I think you need to set up static for your router.

If you think your ISP is Cool then don't worry about it. I added that because there has been people that have had trouble with them.

I still think you need to use only 1 firewall. If you want to continue to use 2, Hey it's your prerogative.
