Question No connections in Vista

Hi all. Just get a sparkly new laptop running Vista and try as I might LW will not start a connection. I've trawled the forums and tried most suggestions but with no joy.I click 'start connection' the go to the 'connections' tab and nothing shows, not a single host. If I go to 'add host' and put an ip address then click 'ok' the dialogue vanishes but the ip doesn't go into the connections screen. I really think it's a problem with LW and Vista. Anyway, information supplied as needed below.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Vista Home Basic
2. What firewalls you have? Zone Alarm Free
3. How much ram? 512 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 80GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Ethernet or wireless via home hub
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? BT Home Hub
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW Pro 4.14.8 Java V6 Update 2
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? BT
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Yes. A desktop is also connected via the router but this machine runs Win XP and LW with no problems at all.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Experienced user, only having problems with Vista. Running fine on other machines.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnP is enabled in the router.
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall AVG Free Anti-virus. Windows firewall off.
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). UK

Any ideas welcome, but as mentioned I've tried pretty much everything.

Regards,

Try using a different connection port to that of the other LW on the XP machine. Try a port between 49152 - 65535 such as 64049. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Firewalls. And change connection & listening ports.

Thanks LOTR but I've tried that in the past and LW crashes, or just freezes up, when I try. I've re-installed it twice after trying to change the ports. For further info the home hub is set up correctly, and anyway it allows LW on the other machine connected to it.
This is what's making me think it's a specific problem with Vista.

Well seeing you have 2 firewalls and it isn't wise to run 2 at the same time as they could clash and leave you more vulnerable...
I would uninstall ZoneAlarm and just use your IPcop, as you already know now that limewire won't work along side ZoneAlarm..
