I really don't know, it is weird tho that I had mediacom the whole time ( with my old comp and now with my new one) and everything was fine untill I upgraded to the new version of lw. Let me ask you this, I recintly had to do a complete system restore (15 year old son messed up my ge force 8200 driver and ALOT of other stuff on new comp) and after complete restore I then downloaded new version of lw, could my vista backups (on puter) be messing with lw , because I know vista has a little more intricate backups than xp.

Very well could be the reason..I'm not a Vista user, so I really don't know alot about the system...
I reckon post what you have just said over at the limewire.org forums...A couple of the developers frequent there..They may know what's going on....
