Is there a similar program to Limewire? I was not pleased with IMESH. We know it's not the router or cable company if my old winxp can run limewire and my new vista home premium suddenly can't. however, i started having issues with BitTorrent...restored to 3 days ago and is almost back to normal..almost. maybe, it's out of our control. |

Well, I got so tired of changing things, I downloaded Frostwire and it works perfectly..If this sounds stupid it probably is...How would I know what to change the listening port to? I changed the listening port, restarted and changed it back and I saw no change on the Vista. I am not skilled enough to keep changing things on my pc, like registry keys, etc. I have done that to make Itunes work on Vista. Finally had to revert to a previous version to make it work. It seems that my computer updated Itunes to a newer version without me realizing it and it knocked out my DVD ROM.. maybe that is what those mac commercials are telling us..Vista is sooo screwed up for me at least....but thanks for the info. |

How did you try to uninstall it? If you used the control panel -> install/uninstall programs that is the incorrect way. Normal way is Start menu -> All Programs -> LW -> Uninstall. Try this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html, however use your Pro installer instead. Also, delete your previous LW preferences folder before you reinstall: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) or for vista see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html |
