Searching on Limewire

Hi,

I have had Limewire for a while and did not used to have problems with it, but now when I search for songs I want, absolutely nothing comes up. Does anyone know why this might be happening, and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks

Is it only songs? See How to find music

If all else fails, try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

hello so connor try removing a couple of your connections in limewire in the top left click view then go to showhide check connections then you can remove a couple or all if the same ones keep coming back just copy the ip address then block it

Good point muchwayne. ;) Yes there are "dud" or "fake" ultrapeers out there. They've been around for some time. Another option is to close LW off for several mins, reconnect & see if you have the same ones in the connections window.

I had that problem tell I figured it out I didn't know there was connections like that tell i fooled around a bit and it helped.

Still having problems

Hi,

I'm not sure what I have to do. I have gone into connections and different IP address come up and the status for all of them says connecting... and the time in the right hand column keeps changing. I tried installing the Java thing but no luck there unless I'm doing something wrong. Also deleting preference folders - I can't find the folder to delete? Really I'm a bit stuck and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing?? :(

I forgot to mention. The last time I had this problem and I posted the message initially it all of a sudden started to work again but I hadn't actually done anything and no it isn't working again so I'm a bit stumped??

What does waiting for stable connections mean?

Lord of the Rings May 16th, 2008 11:23 PM

System details - help us to help you (click on blue link)

Waiting for stable connections means it's searching for true connections, not fake ones. It may also be related to you not being properly connected to your ultrapeers.

Thanks for your help.

I decided to uninstall limewire and start again. At the moment it seems to be working.
