Default Limewire does not connect. Help Please!

Hi all,

when I open Limewire it will not connect. My system is as follows:

OS: Windows Vista 64 bit
Firewall: Norton Internet Security 2007
Ram: 4GB
Hard disc space: about 300GB
Connection: Broadband Cable
Modem: Motorola
Router: Netgear WGR614v7
Connecting from house
Limewire 4.8.1
Java 6.0_0.2
ISP: Virgin
Test: Your Test Worked
A laptop is also connected to the router
I have previously used Limewire with Windows XP
I do not see a brickwall in front of the globe
Router is set to UPnp enabled
I am in the UK

After looking at the posts here I tried changing the port number in Norton Firewall but it made no difference. I have also looked for the Limewire folder in AppData but there is no folder there.
Can anyone please help me set up Limewire. I am not very computer literate so step by step would be a great help.
If anyone can help me please.
Ray-A

You are using such an old version of limewire and maybe that's the conflict as your on Vista...I'd suggest updating to the latest limewire and see how you go...
Once you have done that let me know if you can connect, if you can't there are a few things to do to get you going...

Hi Wondering Why,
Many thanks for your message. I have updated to a later version of Limewire and, touch wood, it seems to be working ok as long as I switch off the Firewall. It is showing a brickwall infron of the globe though. But I don't really use Limewire that often so I think I should be ok now.
Thanks
Ray-A
