Angry Can't connect. Using Windows Vista.

I used limewire all the time, and it worked fine, had xp. Now i have a new computer with vista. downloaded limewire and now it only shows one bar of connection and wont allow me to download music. I have looked on limewire's site for support and have tried the suggestions with the firewall ports 6346 and all that. I have also looked around in the forums, nothing has worked. I am using ZoneAlarm for a firewall. I would appreciate help, thank you.

Have you tried uninstalling both LW & ZA, then reinstalling LW & finally reinstalling ZA? Making sure that LW is installed before ZA has fixed the problem for a few Vista users.

What other fixes have you tried from the forum? Please let us know

We also need your details.
System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!!

I've also tried looking into program control in zonealarm, limewire is enabled. i've looked into deleting limewire settings which i saw in a post on this site, but wasnt sure how to go about it.

Have a look at the link below, it should help with how to remove your LW rules & add new ones within ZA.
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your ZoneAlarm Firewall.

Once you've done that, restart LW & see how it goes. Also try (within LW) file > disconnect, leave it for 5 mins then file > connect.

Also try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here.
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.
The folder's hidden by default, so see this link about showing hidden files & folders.

When LW connected without ZA, did the brick wall firewall icon go away? Have you always seen the brick wall icon, or has it just started showing up since the connection problem? AFAIK there's no firewall within your modem
