iTunes connection?

On my old Mac computer, all my limewire songs would automatically be put into my iTunes library so I could listen to them wether or not I was connected to Limewire or not.
I got a new laptop, Hp Pavilion, and downloaded limewire and itunes, but the music i download on limewire will only show up on itunes if limewire is running, and then dissappears when it is closed.
How do i get my songs to transfer to my permanent itunes library and STAY there?
