Rhonda, Are you in College?? You say that your in a Dorm. Well, I have to give you a "F" on answering the questions. Internet Explorer is an Operating System, not an ISP. The reason why you can't connect is because you have a Firewall issue and if you are at college, it may be next to impossible. Ask around to see if others are able to connect. The school is probably blocking P2P.
Also Vista + Zone Alarm is a bad combination for Limewire.

Try uninstalling both LW & ZA, then reinstall LW first. After that, reinstall ZA. This has worked for a few Vista users...see post #6 of this thread Can't connect using Vista.

Also it's not a good idea to have 3 Firewalls nor is a good idea to disable them, instead figure out which ONE you want to use and give Limewire Full Access.

Need to also know what version of Java You have.

Hope this helps.

Change the shortcut to and the limewire.exe file itself both to compatibility with windows XP sp2 by left-clicking the icons and going under the compatibility tab.

Then left click the shortcut and chose "run as administrator"....

If that doesn't help let me know...Also what exactly is limewire doing ??

It works some times other times don't...
Limewire stats up normally the main window comes up but the indicator that indicates the connection quality just stands at connecting, I've waited up to two hours before I give up and close limewire.

When I did like you said it connected and got full connection...

I fianlly got irritated enough and reloaded my entire OS. After reloading Vista LW worked ;ike brand new. I don't recommend this unless you feel really comfortable with it.
