Limewire stops in boot up

I have windows Vista and when I start limewire it boots up until it displays loading old downloads in the message bar on the bottom. It stays that way unless you search for something then it says loading messages and that is as far as it will go. Can't search can't shut down without using task manager. I've been using limewire for long time and never had a issue. I deleted the program and downloaded it again. didn't help problem
