![]() So here's the deal. I just got a new computer with Vista. I downloaded Limewire and Java 6 Update 3 and started Limewire up. Limewire starts up and after a few seconds Vista basically says "Limewire is not working, we'll notify you if we figure out what's happening" and of course, it still doesn't know what's happening. I've completely disabled ALL of my security settings and it's still not working. If anyone has any idea what this could be, please HELP! |

![]() Uninstall ZA & LW (start > all programs > LW > use the uninstall option). Download the LW offline installer (when you click to download & the dialog box pops up, cancel that & use the option to download the offline installer) & reinstall LW. Once that's done, reinstall ZA. That's fixed things for some Vista users. Next, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html If it's still not working, try this older version of Java. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before you install this one. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 If it turns out that Java's not the problem, it's easy enough to install the latest update again. Try port forwarding for your router. The instructions are here. Port Forwarding for the Beetel 220BX Don't forget to set up a static IP address first, there's info within the link above. LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router should all be the same number. |
