ok iv used limewire on other computers with xp, but now iv got vista and everytime i open limewire i cant get rid of the detecting firewall logo, but i can get a full connection, just really bad search results and bad download speeds

iv disabled windows firwall, iv disabled my routers firewall, iv re-installed limewire, iv added it as an exception, i dont know wat else to do

here are my specs and any advice would be greatly appreiciated

For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? my router is connected to the comp. via an ethernet cable and the dsl cable is connected to a filter which is connected to a phone extension cable directly to the phone socket. UPnP is enabled.
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? none
16. What country are you living in? Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

birdy told me to port foward for my speed touch and have, but it still hasn't worked and iv also got the latest version of java.

i know limewire is just a peice of software but it was half the reason i got my computer and in my opinion is the best of its kind

I also a Thomson SpeedTouch 585(v6) modem router but I still use XP as my O/S.

However, I have just one question, have you updated your modem's firmware from V6.1 to 6.2? Although I am not 100% certain, but this "update" may help you with your Vista/Limewire problem.
