Why won't Limewire accept any other save folder besides Local Disk (C:)?

I want to save all my music into my external hardrive, but Limewire won't get past 19% on the loading screen if the save folder isn't in Local Disk (C: )

Chances are that you have probably misconfigured LW in some way because ever since I have had LW (since May 2004) I have always had it save to an external disk.

Post a screen print of your configuration and I will compare it with mine to see if and where you have gone wrong.

Do you want a picture of the options section of Limewire? Or the saved folder? I also too had Limewire saving on my hard drive, but one day it wouldnt work at all...

The "Options" screen will be good enough but can you say whether or not your windows explorer can see your external drive?

^^^That is what I get when I open Limewire, though if its not set at local disk C: I have to run it as admin. And Windows Explorer recognizes my external hardrive. Its New Volume (K : ) down below:

It seems to me that something has gone "funny" with your admin settings, because LW can't see your "K" drive because your admin setting won't let it.

Now, I am not a "Vista" user, I still use XP as my O/S so I can't help with your Vista problem.

However, at least now you know where the problem is.

I was thinking the same thing, funny thing though...I have every permission checked on "K"'s properties. I have permission to see and use everything, and when I check my user settings it says I am an admin with all permission. I'll continue finding out an answer though...
