Default No luck connecting..please help!

I was able to connect until a couple of months ago. Started getting the neverending "connecting, one bar issue". Recently got a new computer and thought I would be good....same issue! One thing is that I cannot connect to the limewire test link...maybe that helps diagnose my problem? Starting to get frustrated!

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Get no connection
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. PRIOR USER
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample image YES

Double check that LW's being allowed through the Windows firewall.

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed.
LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed (you'll have to go back through tools > options & reset things to the way you like them).

It's not a good sign when the port test doesn't work. Sometimes it can mean that an ISP is effecting your ability to connect to certain ports.Try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 64049 (or try others in the arnge of 49152 - 65535) > apply > ok.

Try port forwarding for your router. The instructions are here.
Port Forwarding for the Actiontec GT701-WG
Don't forget to set up a static IP address first. LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router should all be the same number.
