Limewire & Vista I am having problems getting Limewire to connect. Sounds just like everybody else on here. I recently bought a new Dell laptop running Windows Vista, however, I can't get Limewire to connect. I have tried everything from removing McAfee, to installing an older version of Limewire, setting the program to run in XP mode, run as Administrator, dowloading Java 6, unchecking the TP/iV6 (or whatever it was), deleting the .Limewire folder, the gnuella.net file, etc. etc. etc., you name it and i have tried it. HAS ANYONE DISCOVERED A FIX THAT ACTUALLY WORKS? Can I simply install the XP software that I was using on my desktop onto the laptop to get around all this. It's a nightmare, and made worse by the 100,000 suggestions that don't fix anything. |

If your Internet Security (Internet Options/Security) is set to High, I know some people haven't been able to use P2P with Vista. Try Medium with cookies enabled. Be careful with installing the XP software on your laptop. If the software came with your old desktop, it may only work on desktops. Dell is notorious for pulling this. Also, have you tried setting LW to run in Win2000 mode? Apparently that's helped out some folks. In Limewire, what Listening Port and Router Config are you using? Good luck! |

I have tried to lower my Internet Security settings, and I have tried to run LW in Win2000 mode. NOthing has helped. I am not sure what you mean about the "Listening Port and Router Config." Can you provide more insight about that? |
