Limewire tries to crash my pc, so does frostwire.
 

I have limewire pro, and when i first installed it, it worked perfectly. then about 1 day ago, i tried to run it, the logo came up and normally the bar would say loadinmg engine, yada yada yada, but now it won't say anything! it just sits there withthe logo, the bar doesn't run anything at all and it just overloads the memory until it just causes a crash to my pc, and frostwire is doing the same thing. my pc uses vista. whats wrong with it, is it my java? or is it vista related? my java is version 6 upate three. my limewire is 4.14.3. please help me.

Sounds like you might have a virus. Run a virus/malware scan with your antivirus app and see if that won't destroy it. Hope that helps!

i tried that b4, its not a virus. i know it has something to do with vista and maybe java, but i'm not sure and i dont want to cauise anymore problems then what i have....

Have you been mucking around in your BIOS recently?

CACHEING and SHADOWING can improve the performance of your PC, but P2P programs have issues with CACHEING and SHADOWING which can cause your PC to crash.

Try checking your BIOS ('DEL' while booting PC),

and then poke though every menu you see,
disabling any instances of CACHING and SHADOWING.

'F10' to save and exit.
