Unhappy Limewire + Zonealarm + Vista = :(

Hi everyone,

As the title shows, I'm unhappy at the moment. I can't get Limewire to connect. Yay.

Interesting facts/Things I've done/Incoherent ramblings:

1) Uninstalled LW, uninstalled ZoneAlarm, reinstalled LW, reinstalled ZoneAlarm. No luck.
2) All permissions are given to LW in ZA. I've even set up an expert rule in ZA to allow LW TCP & UDP connections on the port I specify. I've tried 6346 but it didn't work (with matching 6346 port in both the "listening port" field and "manual firewall" field.) I've tried port 65,000 and but it locks up LW -- as do some other random ports I try.
3) I've deleted the router/Limewire directory several times and then run LW and I get 1 bar only -- connection-status-wise.
4) I've uninstalled the current release of Java and re-installed 5.0 Update 11.
5) I've replaced the gnutella.net file.
6) If Zonealarm is NOT ON, LW works fine.
7) I've never had to use a static IP in the past -- haven't tried that yet. I've had Zonealarm and Limewire work correctly in the past -- it's something with the new LW version I think.

ALSO, I keep getting multiple LW processes. LW won't fully shut down. I can't manually shut the processes down from Task Manager. I have to actually REBOOT to get them to go away. WTF is up with that?

Anyway, I'm pissed about this not connecting. Advice?

Thanks.

I have almost the exact same problem:

-LimeWire doesn't completely shut down and still remains in Task Manager.

-Replacing the gnutella.net file did not help.

-Changing the port LimeWire uses froze LimeWire.

-LimeWire used to work with ZoneAlarm but this new version screwed up everything.

Meanwhile, I have decided to try using FrostWire, which is an alternative to LimeWire.
