Talking Vista and LW connection probs....still...

I have updated my Windows Vista Home Premium and I have the current version of Java. I cannot connect this version of LW. I have 1 bar at all times. I have PLENTY of memory, I even disabled the Norton's while I downloaded. What do I do now? I want this to work!!! the last version of LW worked fine til recently (1 bar) dont know why. I have Bellsouth/AT&T ISP.

btw, I am new here hello all!!!

Have you looked at ALL these pages and tried all the things they say to do?
System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!!
If LW Will Not Connect
Connections Problems? Look here BEFORE posting!

AFTER you have looked at those three links and tried everything they say, if nothing works, then answer these questions and someone will help you.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?

2. What firewalls you have? Norton Internet Security
3. How much ram? Plenty

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Westell VersaLink Mod#327W
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.LW 4.16.3...Java 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?AT&T
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Says my test worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I had the earlier version of LW (had 672 songs!!--GONE! )
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes...was not a prob in earlier version

Default Vista and LW connection probs....still...

I WAS able to connect to LW last night it was almost 10 pm. I was able to download 8 songs before I went to bed. BUT NOW....it is 12:40pm and I CANNOT connect AGAIN!!! what is going on???!!!!! Help Me!!!!......I answered the message about my system and posted it yesterday.....so......now what? I am getting annoyed!!

That sounds like a case of your ISP shaping your connection at certain times of the day/night...


Try sticking to the one thread it gets confusing for the members trying to help you if you start new threads...

Now that I have seen your system details, your ISP does shape p2p....

You could also try port forwarding your modem/router...This may get rid of the wall you are seeing...

Also try looking for your missing files here....
If you've updated LW and can't find your downloads!
