Question No sound! Able to play mp3s using WMP but not with the LW player. ???

Hey all. I've juz instaslled the latest LimeWire, version 4.16 onto my Vista Home Premoium PC. I juz downloaded an mp3 but when I try to play it using LW player, there's no sound!! Previous version of LW I can listen to mp3s using the player. I don't know what's the problem with the new LW. Please someone help me! I am able to play the mp3 using WMP however, juz not with the LW player.

I checked my Options, and I did enable the player.

Restart LW & then try to play the file again with the LW player. Just to make sure it's not a one-off, download another file & see whether that plays with the LW player. If things still aren't playing & you're determined to use the LW player (it's very bad), delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See below for instructions.

If that doesn't help & you think it's a bug in the latest version, post over at this other forum. The developers don't look here but they might see your post over there.

Sorry for the double post. I did what you suggested but it still didn't work. No sound can be heard using the LW player.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but now there's a volume control for the LW player...if you've updated from a version older than 4.15, you would never have had a volume control before. Make sure that the green slider to the left of the player isn't pushed right to the left (low volume)

If you could play songs using the LW player, but now you can't, maybe it's a bug.
I'm not trying to put you off the LW player (I think it's awful but some people love it), but it can really take a dive if you're doing other things (like downloading, browsing) at the same time that you're trying to play a song.

Try the latest LW Beta version, see whether that's any better. You can download the Beta version from the usual LW download page. Make sure to download the offline installer. When you click on your platform to download, cancel the dialog box which pops up...now use the option to download the offline installer.

If nothing helps, you should post at the other forum that I linked to in post #2. The developers don't come over here, but they might see your post there
