Default Hey guys, few facts and issues I would like discussed.

So I've used a lot over the years. Never had an issues with it. Until this year I am enrolled in college and have encountered a few problems. First off, connections...I cannot connect fully to limewire preventing me from downloading. It recommended it was firewall settings but I hit allow for limewire so it should work? I know this question has been asked a million times but could someone answer me personally please?

Also...What negates legal from illegal use of limewire? Downloading music and video clips and just using them for watching, is illegal? Or...? I came up here and within the first few weeks I downloaded maybe 3-4 songs due to not being able to be connected, and my RA in my resident hall told me the computer tech guy was looking for me to warn me to refrain use of downloading music ilegally, and that this was just a warning but next time could result in a 1800-24,000 dollar fine or something like that. This is def. something I would not like happening obviously so im just wondering what I can do to prevent this. Therefore looking for advice on how I can use limewire without this problem, because I am craving some music and video's! My computer was broke forever and I just got it back so I would like to start downloading, but am weary of doing it because I dont want to get caught.

Also am new to the site this is my first thread so appreciate all and or any help given! Thank you!

Alot of the Legalities depend on what country you live in. It's obviously Illegal to download Copyrighted Material where you Live so it's up to You if You want to take the chance of getting caught.

There are Creative Commons Licensed Files, that are Legal to download.
Google to learn more, or you could buy the files from sites like iTunes or Rhapsody.

Haha so if any thing you do on limewire like download any form of any file pretty much, and its all illegal, then whats the point of limewire? This is what I dont understand which is legal and whats not, and it sounds like anything you do is illegal so whats the purpose of the site other than being a trap to being sued?

Well there are something like 2 million members that use Limewire if that says anything. It's unfortunate for you being in College and wanting to use Limewire. The RIAA and the MPAA have really put the Pressure on All Colleges and Universities to Block P2P use. By threatening to Fine if they don't abide.
