Default limewire wants to continually install

I've used limewire for ages. I've never had any issues at all with it.
i've used it for a while on vista.
Tonight I downloaded the newest update and even though it is installed it keeps wanting to re-install to the point that it it frustrating. I can't do anything else on my pc because of the stupid interruptions of limewire. exe. I finally had to remove it from my pc to get it to stop.

Any suggestions? I have vista ultimate on my dual core 500 gig machine

Thanks
Laura

Try downloading the version before this one. filehippo.com - Download Free Software and install that one. Could be some mistake in the install file for the newest version.

yup a purebreed

Well something in limewire is broken, so you probably have to completely clean it out and set it up again. Off course not cleaning the files you downloaded

I would recommend completely uninstalling it and then delete any folders not containing downloaded files. This includes the options settings i.e. preference folder.

Then run CCleaner or similar program to clean registry CCleaner - Home (I am not 100% sure it will do this as it's partially compatible with Vista) Delete everything associated with Limewire

Restart the computer before installing it again and then set up everything like it was before in the options.

This is Peaches. She is Border Collie and American Bulldog. Previous owners showed her no affection at all and I'm working with her to get her over her fear of men with beards. She's a year and a half. She is a solid 65 pounds of muscle but as smart as a border collie when it comes to learning new things.

I realized that my Limewire events started when I did an update to EMDB which is where I store a running list of all of my movies. I'll have to do some serious registry cleaning tonight.

Thanks for your help

Cute dog

Yeah they learn quickly, but when they get older they are a bit stubborn. Mine, Gizmo, is completely obsessed with anything round like balls, all sizes, as long as they even resemble being round in any way. He can spend entire days trying to get everyone to play ball with him, and even after playing with him for long periods, he still continues to the point where it gets annoying. Telling him to stop it only makes him go find someone else.

Also he barks and growls at all strangers that come to our door. Even punishing him doesn't work. But that's pretty much our own fault for not teaching him that it was wrong when he was a puppy. I looks pretty funny when a small puppy is trying to act as a guard dog.

Yeah.... I would uninstall the Limewire you're having problems with including deleting the folder in your Program Files directory. It shouldn't be necessary to clean the registry... but if you feel confident and capable of doing it i see no reason why you should'nt delete all references from there too.
Good Lick... :-))
