My Vista and McAfee Solution worked

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was trying to run LW on Vista Home Premium and my internet connection crashed everytime I started LW. I also have McAfee Security Center running. After trying all recommendations w/o any luck. I searched and found the following fix for internet connection problems w/Vista and I'll be dammed it worked for me. I have LW & McAfee running as I type. Give it a try

Unbind TCP/IPv6.
From the Windows Vista Start menu, click Network.
In the Network window, click Network and Sharing Center.
In the Network and Sharing Center window, click Manage network connections.
In the Network Connections window, right-click the network connection you are trying to use (Wireless or Local Area Connection), and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, on the Networking tab, in the This connection uses the following items: area, click to clear check mark from Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6). Click OK.
Shut down Windows, restart the computer, and then try connecting to the Internet.
Change the adapter settings for TCP/IPv4.
In the Network Connections window, right-click the network connection you are trying to use (Wireless or Local Area Connection), and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, on the Networking tab, click to select your network connection, and then click Configure.
In the Controller Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
On the Advanced tab, in the Properties area, click to select and then change the value of any option with an option of (IPv4) to Disabled. Click OK. The usual items to look for are: IPv4 Checksum Offload, TCP Checksum Offload (IPv4), UDP Checksum Offload (IPv4).

Solution for windows vista, mc afee and LW!!1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried a lot of things regards mc afee, vista and LW. The only solution to keep you antivirus and run Lime wire without problems is:

1.- go to control panel
2.- uninstall programs
3.- select mc afee
4.- uninstall firewall, privacy service and spam killer
5.- restart you computer and you'll be able to conect to internet and use Lime Wire at the same time as well as you internet explorer.

I had to call mc afee to figure this out cuz was been a pain in the a.... this problem and this is the only solution that they have for now until they fix those compatibility problems with vista, mc afee and LW.

Hope this work for you !!!
