![]() Hello. First off I want to say hi to everyone. I am new to Limewire and I hope it works better than the other site I was using. My question is this. On the page where it lists all the songs and you are to click on the one you want to download it says up top that if theres not a green limewire symbol in the quality row then its not a real limewire download. Well all of the songs i typed in to download didnt show that green symbol coming up. I put in at least 10 different songs and not one of them showed that symbol. My computer is brand new and I dont want to get ahold of bad files so can someone tell me ..am I doing something wrong or what?? I would appreciate any help I can get with this. Thanks ![]() |

![]() Hi and Welcome ! Don't worry. Remember that you are participating in the Gnutella Network... Limewire is only one of numerous 'clients' that you can use to access other users of the Gnutella Network... Many of the clients do very silly things re: 'rating' or 'recognition' of the other clients. Silly, but nothing to cause you problems. The same goes for the display of INFO, such as the bitrate and run time of an .mp3 file... Just because it isn't displayed means nothing negative. Also, these are the Gnutella Forums... NOT the Limewire Forums... Limewire, again, is one of many other clients here. Saying that, you will note that there are clients that use Gnutella Forums as their only forum access for their users. And, if you really want to try to avoid bad files, be certain to always check the file with Bitzi... BEFORE you download ! ![]()

![]() Most of the better 'clients' have an option which will appear if you highlight a file in either the Search panel or in the Downloads panel... It may say "Bitzi Ticket" or "Check Bitzi" or whatever... To learn more about Bitzi, AND to participate in Bitzi as a 'critic' and contributor, please click on > Bitzi - Check Files Before Download ! You do not need to register if you prefer to act anonymously. Bitzi is a wonderful service and, as with all other aspects of p2p, it is dependent on US 'feeding' and supporting it ! ![]() Not all files that you check will have a Bitzi ticket, but more and more people are contributing every day and the database is growing very fast. Once you start using Bitzi you will find that your whole p2p experience is very much improved ! ![]() |
